PRISM-911 Verification Process Showing Excellent Results

    PRISM_911

The City’s PRISM-911 verification process will conclude next week and has shown excellent results.  Since January 5th, 2009 the City’s Emergency Notification System has made over 26,000 phone calls from its’ PRISM-911 telephone database to verify the accuracy of the database.  Approximately 88% of the PRISM-911 database has been called to date and of the numbers called, 77% have been verified by the public.

The automated PRISM-911 verification process runs Monday to Friday between 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm.  If you received a PRISM-911 verification call message on your answering machine or selected the “verify later” option, please contact the City at 613-392-2841, extension 4545 to confirm your contact information.  Please ensure you clearly state your name, address and telephone number.

PRISM-911 is the first Canadian-made application of this kind in the Country and is the first known municipal Emergency Notification System that verifies its’ complete database by calling all listings to confirm its’ accuracy in North America.  This is an excellent process to test both the PRISM-911 / VoiceGate telephony system and to ensure the PRISM database is as accurate as possible.

The City of Quinte West wishes to thank all residents for assisting in the verification process which will take place annually between January and March.  PRISM-911 was officially launched on March 4, 2008 and has been used by the City of Quinte West in 6 emergency events to date.
